Nina and the Secret of the Invisible Valley

Nina lived with her parents inside the golden-leaf tree, one of the most beautiful homes in the invisible Valley of Fairies. To outsiders the valley looked like an empty crater. To the fairies it was a world of green hills, glowing flowers and tiny wooden houses suspended among branches.

As Halloween approached, Nina noticed something impossible: footprints belonging to no fairy appeared beside the river. The magic hiding the valley was weakening.

Following the tracks, she reached an ancient stone circle where one of the protective crystals had cracked. Through the gap in the enchantment, a lost human child had wandered into the valley and could now see everything.

Some elders wanted to erase the child’s memory immediately. Nina refused. The child had not come to harm them and was terrified of being trapped. Nina discovered that fear itself was feeding the crack in the crystal.

She used the stories she loved to tell every Halloween, turning frightening images into playful illusions: friendly ghosts, laughing pumpkins and a clumsy werewolf. The child stopped being afraid. As fear faded, the crystal began to mend.

Nina guided the visitor safely home. By morning, the valley was invisible again. The elders never admitted that a child had helped save their secret, but from then on Nina was invited to tell the first story at every Halloween celebration.
